1. Measure your child’s foot

Place the paper on the ground. Have your child stand on the paper with their heel on the denoted line, and mark where their longest toe ends. Make sure they’re standing with both feet flat on the ground and with their full weight on their feet while measuring.

2. Measure their other foot

Switch feet and measure their other foot. Compare the longest measurement to the conversion chart below to determine their size.

3. Measure their width

Cut out the ruler from the printable tool and wrap it around the widest part of their foot. Mark where it connects. Repeat for both feet and use the largest number. Compare their size and width measurement with the table below to determine their width.

Find their size, without a printer

First, you’ll need a few supplies. Grab a ruler, a piece of paper, and something flexible, like a shoelace or a ribbon.

1. Trace your child's foot

Place a sheet of paper on the ground. Have your child step on the paper with their full weight and trace their foot. Make sure they’re standing with both feet on the ground while tracing.

2. Trace their other foot

Switch feet and measure their other foot. Using your ruler, measure the outline of each foot from heel to toe. Compare the longest measurement to the conversion chart below to determine their size.

3. Measure their width

Wrap a shoelace or something flexible around the widest point of your child’s foot and mark where it connects. Using your ruler, measure this length. Repeat on the other foot. Using the largest measurement, compare with their size on the conversion chart below to determine their width.
